In South Carolina, a GED Candidate is not required to be enrolled in a preparatory program prior to testing for the GED. Local GED prep classes and approved adult education programs, however, are a great way to save money, as well as, improve your skills and scores. With the GED, you can take the 4 subject tests all at once or one at a time. The GED® may be taken two ways:
- In-Person: You can take the test at an official, state-designated testing center, like Lexington One Adult Education. Center testing costs $37.50 per subject (or $150 total).
- Online: You can take the test securely from home using an online proctor. Online testing costs $43.50 per subject (or $174 total) and requires a reliable computer, webcam, and a private workspace.
